TKD Companion
Is TKD Companion free?
Free was designed for the casual tournament family — a couple of local tournaments a year. It covers two athletes and two tournaments a season, with unlimited rings at each, and instructor feedback included. Pro ($4.99/month or $49/year) is for families chasing the season: unlimited tournaments, the season points plan, roster sheet import, video capture, ring sharing, and school tools.
Do I need an account to start tracking a ring?
Yes — a free account with an email and password. Everything you record is private to your account and synced across your devices, which is also what makes rings shareable with family and available on the web.
Which tournaments are in the app?
The ATA tournament calendar is built in — pick your season, find your tournament, and set up your rings.
Can I follow more than one athlete?
Yes. An account can hold multiple athletes — built for families with more than one competitor, and for coaches.
Which events does it cover?
All of them. Traditional forms and weapons, sparring, combat weapons sparring, creative forms and weapons, and extreme (XMA) forms and weapons — plus One Steps for younger competitors. Judged events and matches are each scored their own way, and a ring holds whichever events your competitor is in.
Which scoring formats does it handle?
Judged events — traditional, creative, and extreme forms and weapons — use three-judge scoring with live rankings and tie detection. Sparring tracks match by match, with win/loss records and standings. Season totals follow the official per-event caps by tournament class, so what you see matches how the season is actually scored.
Can I use it on a computer instead of my phone?
Yes. The web app at companion.tkdringside.com runs in any browser — no download required.
My tournament isn’t listed — can you add it?
Email [email protected] with the tournament name and date and we’ll get it in.
Rep Forge
Is Rep Forge free?
Free gives you a move bank of up to 50 moves — plenty to build and practice your forms. Pro ($2.99/month or $29/year) unlocks an unlimited move bank and uploading to the community library.
Do I need TKD Companion to use Rep Forge?
No. They are separate apps with separate accounts and separate purchases. Neither one requires the other.
Can I add a move that isn’t in the app?
Yes — your move bank is yours to build, and you assemble your own forms from it. Pro members can also share to, and download from, the community library.
